In the year 2001, the Department reorganized into the department to work with foreign doctors. Today, Altai state medical university has thousands of international students from countries like India, Sri Lanka, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, China, Mongolia, Morocco, Afghanistan, as well as from neighbouring countries like Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan.

Altai State Medical University has three hostels that are located in the centre of the city. The hostel rooms are close near to the main public transport routes, which makes most of the destinations easy and accessible. There are various co-curricular activities and sports grounds, reading halls that help use students’ time most efficiently and develop most appropriately. The hostel is closely situated to ATM, phone recharge booths, retail shops, cafeterias, malls, eating cafes. While staying in the hostel rooms, medical students can use the gym, swimming pool, reading rooms, and common areas present in the university.
