Previously, the CBSE conducted the examination for medical licenses in 2015. The Pre-Medical Test was replaced by the All India Pre-Medical Test, or AIPMT (PMT). The National Eligibility and Entrance Exam (NEET) took the place of the pre-medical exams when the National Test Agency was established (NEET). Later, on August 8, 2019, the President gave his assent to the National Medical Commission Act of 2019. According to Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act of 2019, all medical institutions, including those governed by other laws, must hold a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in order to admit students to undergraduate medical programs.
